The crazy journey we call LIFE

It was the weirdest day!

Last Saturday, we decided to take the teamsters and go visit Alex for the day. I must say, it was such a strange experience! The weather that day was rainy and gloomy, which for egypt is a rare occurance. Anyway, Maggie picks me up and we go to get John as well. To my delight, he tells me they need to move 3 cars in one go so he gives me the key to his car and asks me to drive it...all by myself! I was nervous as hell coz I CAN drive but I never drove a car without someone next to me. But I soon got over the nerves and just had a great time! In any case, we go get the teamsters, one of which wasnt coming coz she just had a bad feeling about the day! We probably should have listened to her. So we drove with both cars to alex and boy did it rain on the way! We got to Alex late coz of that and met the rest of the teamsters there who had gone to NATCO so were closer to Alex than we were. The winds in Alex were horrendous! People's glasses flew off their faces, and we were literally being pushed by the wind. We go to visit the Alex Library. It was the first time for me to go inside and I was very impressed...like Tarek Talaat was saying "I feel proud of my country today!". Inside, we take a guided tour and spend some time chatting and taking photos. We go outside...and disastor number 1 of the day had happened...Maggie's back windshield was all cracked up due to "glass cancer"! It was freezing and wet so we didnt know how we'd drive the car back to Cairo! In any case, we take the teamsters to see the Stanley Bridge then to see the Citadel. We then park in this street to have some fish. It was a big feast of salads, seafood soups, fish, calamari, and gandoffli. By this time, we had taped a big piece of cardboard to the back of Maggie's car to block the wind. We have a tasty meal, a few laughs, and we go outside to find disastor number 2...a sign had flown off a building and cut a hole into John's car body! We were all like...this can NOT be happening to us today! So...we sulk a little...but some Alex ice cream cheers us up a bit to make it for the drive back to Cairo. A very very very strange day but surprisingly we had fun! But I dont think we would ever want to go through that again!
